I am here to help parents, tweens and teens navigate challenges they are experiencing in an open and trusting atmosphere.  I offer a safe, supportive environment where freedom to express big feelings, struggles and hopes are welcome.  I tailor therapy sessions to match the personality and needs of everyone using evidenced based treatment methods.  I have worked with people of all ages while specializing in the mental health needs of children and families for the past 20 years.  In my work I have found that people express themselves differently at various stages of their life; understanding and that is my specialty.  My work includes a wide range of families raising children and adolescents suffering from attachment difficulties due to developmental issues, self-harm, disrupted relationships and trauma.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Clinician and hold a bachelor's degree in social work from USF and a masters in mental health counseling from Webster University.  Previous work includes mental health targeted case management with children in the foster care system, counseling children and families in both private and nonprofit sectors and facilitating groups and workshops for differently abled young adults.  Certifications include Maternal Mental Health Professional assisting mothers with postpartum needs involving mental health challenges and transitions and Circle of Security facilitator, a network that provides evidence-based program implemented throughout the world with children and parents experiencing difficulties that focuses on relationships.

In addition to private work, I contract with a nonprofit as the creative arts facilitator.  Since 2015 I have provided drama-based recreation therapy and group counseling for family retreats.  The weekends include families with a child with autism, cancer, blood disorders, Down’s Syndrome, Epilepsy, LGBTQ+ teens, death of a child or loved one, returning veterans with PTSD and more.  I truly look forward to working with you and helping you meet your needs wherever you are.

I’m a lifelong learner and proponent of self-discovery.  I found my passion in assisting others in healing their traumas and uncovering their purpose.  I’m registered as a marriage and family therapist who uses a systemic approach in working with individuals, couples, or families.  I recognize clients as being the expert in their own lives and assist in guiding them in defining their goals and creating viable steps to obtain them.  I make every effort to cultivate a comfortable space for clients of all ages and backgrounds to use their strengths in developing personal wellness.

My education has focused on multicultural perspectives, marriage and family therapy, and grief and loss, but the foundation of my learning has been rooted in life experiences, travel, and remaining curious.  I started my career 20 years ago working with at risk families and have since developed a few niche areas of practice.  I am genuinely invested in my clients’ growth and remain confident that positive change is not only possible, but also obtainable.
"Today is always the best day to reach out for help."
